“Wishin’ I was
Knee deep in the water somewhere
got the blue sky, breeze and it don’t seem fair
the only worry in the world
is the tide gonna reach my chair
Sunrise, there’s a fire in the sky
never been so happy
never felt so high
and I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise
Wrote a note, said “Be back in a minute”
Bought a boat and I sailed off in it
Don’t think anybodies gonna miss me anyway
Mind on a permanent vacation
The ocean is my only medication
Wishin’ my condition aint ever gonna go away”
I got word today that one of my very closest friends & her husband are moving to Key West… for definite.. like next week! We’ve been talking about them possibly moving at the end of the year.
I’m so happy for them, and insanely jealous all at the same time. So many emotions! On the one hand, we will have some where to stay when we get down to the Keys. On the other hand, it’s SO far from here I’m afraid I’ll never see my dear friend!! It’s 8hrs from our house, to their new house! That doesn’t even seem possible! I could be out of the state of Florida in 8hrs if I head north!
I’m really very happy for them, and I know this is such an awesome opportunity, and a great experience! I can’t wait to go see them..eventually! Trust me, I’m already researching a trip down there. I was already looking at flights before I talked to her this afternoon!
This morning when I was getting ready for work I was listening to Kenny Chesney. Kenny puts me straight into la-la land. My thoughts go like this:
If I could pay everything off….
I’d move to Costa Rica.
maybe the Keys
I need to be somewhere more tropical
saltwater is in my blood
I know I’ve said similar things before but I seriously have this conversation with myself pretty often.
After work today I decided that I had to do some kind of work out. I really didn’t want to run, the humidity was like 105%, and the treadmill was equally unappealing. I decided a little circuit work out would do for today.
It went like this:
½ mi run – warm up
10 chest flys on mat – 5lb weights
10 push ups
20 chest presses on stability ball – 5lb weights
30 crunches on stability ball
½ mi run @ 7.0
30 bicep curls w/ 5lb weights
10 push ups
20 leg raises
Plank w/ elbows on stability ball
½ mi run @ 7.0
10 push up
20 chest presses on floor – 5lb weights
15 chest flys – 5lb weights
20 tricep presses – 5lb weights
Nothing really impressive, but it’s a lot more impressive than sitting on the couch. amiright?
In case you haven’t heard –
This summer, Cait from Beyond Bananas and 4 of her closest friends will be walking 60 miles in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for a Cure. Her team has a fundraising goal of $11,500 and have currently raised $7,226. Cait has created this bake sale to help fight back against breast cancer. All proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation – funding community support programs and ongoing breast cancer research!
How the sale will work (This can also be found on my site..)
- Choose an item that you would like.
- Send an email to BeyondBananas@ymail.com
- Put the ITEM and the BID amount in the SUBJECT LINE ($15 min)
- Bid on as many items as you would like… but please make a SEPARATE EMAIL for each.
If you are the high bidder at the end of the sale – you will be contacted VIA email with your next set of instructions (i.e. where to make the donation.. remember 24 hour time limit.. or else it goes to the next person…)
I think this is a great idea on Cait’s part. Initially I was not planning on baking anything, bc I’m not a foodie, and I’m not creative by any means..but during the week I just kept thinking about how I should do something. I e-mailed Cait Friday night and told her I would participate. I’m going to bake an adapted version of Mama Pea’s Vanilla wafers, and an adapted version of Mama Pea’s Peanut butter balls. Chris & I love these cookies so I thought they would be a good contribution. I will also include a dri-fit Nike hat & a bag of my FAVORITE coffee!! New England Coffee Blueberry Cobbler, mmmmm!
Bidding on the items ends tonight so get over to Beyond Bananas and check it out!
