Holy sharks!

I like sharks and all, but this is WAY to close for comfort!!!

I can’t figure out how to embed it into my blog, sorry it has to be a clicky link.

  1. Just catching up with you… sorry you’ve got so many medical troubles right now. Ug! Hope your knee is okay and that the skin spot isn’t anything too serious. You still have plenty of time until your marathon goal, so I wouldn’t feel bad about skipping some of the other races if you need to do some recovery on the knee.
I think it’s great that you want to help out the troops more. I used to write letters to people I knew, but I guess I haven’t done that in awhile either. Let me know if you find some specific info about where to send letters or donate stuff. I would totally do it too! Hope your weekend is great.

    • Thanks Lisa, when it rains it pours I guess. I don’t know if I never noticed this spot before because my face was pale, and i’ve recently got a little tan, or if it’s a new spot. Whatever it is, skin cancer scares the beejezus out of me so i’m going to get it checked out the end of this month.

I might have to skip out on the half in October. The two races i’m registered for in Sept are already paid for, so i’m running, unless the Dr says no..in which case I will cry. I REALLY REALLY want to do the race in St Pete in Nov, REALLY bad. Two friends are training for it as well, plus there is that awesome palm tree medal.. Of course if the Dr says no, then .. well, I might find another Dr.. Just kidding, sort of. I guess I wouldn’t run. I am not really worried about the marathon. That is a huge goal, and a lot of training, If I can’t run it in Feb, then I’ll find another one in 2012 (Florida lacks in Marathons after about March/April).

I will post some information once I find some good solid stuff on how to help out our Troops!

      Have a great weekend!

  2. Ok – I definitely hope you’re able to be ready in time for the November 1/2! Espeically if you have friends to run it with. I remember when you posted the palm tree medal, and it looks sweet:) Keep in mind that if the doctor isn’t really famillar with running, he may tell you just to not run for awhile – period. I had so much achilles trouble last fall before my 1/2, and I probably shouldn’t have run…. but I did and then took time off afterwards. So, I’m not advocating that you ignore professional advice, but I will say that unless you find out you have a serious problem, you can probably keep training along with RICE as long as you monitor how you feel and back off if things get worse. Anyhow, enough with my super long comments. Hope everything goes ok! My grandma had skin cancer, so I definitley agree that problem is not something to mess around with.
